Professor Kaltsounis joined the faculty in 2006. She teaches Legal Research, Analysis, and Writing; Professional Responsibility; and Post-Conviction Review. She currently serves as the Director of the Judicial Clerkship Program. She is a four-time recipient of the Student Bar Association's Phillip A. Trautman Professor of the Year award (2007, 2010, 2012, 2014).

In 2003, Professor Kaltsounis graduated with honors from the UW School of Law and was elected to the Order of the Coif and the Order of Barristers. She served on the executive boards of the Washington Law Review and the Moot Court Honor Board, and was a member of the William L. Dwyer Inn of Court. Following law school, she clerked for the Hon. Richard C. Tallman of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and was in private practice at a Seattle firm where she focused on school law and employment law matters.

A former special education teacher, Professor Kaltsounis has worked as an early intervention applied behavior analyst for children with autism, and taught at the Experimental Education Unit of the UW's Haring Center for Research and Training in Inclusive Education.
