Christopher Strawn is a staff attorney at the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project (NWIRP) and the director of the asylum unit at NWIRP since 2006. At NWIRP, his practice has focused on representing individuals before the immigration agencies and the courts. He has also been counsel in a number of class actions challenging immigration practices and policies, including Khoury v. Asher, 3 F.Supp.3d 877 (W.D. Wash. 2014), A.B.T. v. USCIS, 2013 WL 5913323 (W.D. Wash. Nov. 4, 2013); and Roshandel v. Chertoff, 554 F. Supp. 2d 1194 (W.D. Wash. 2008). Previously he was in private practice as an associate at the Seattle law firm of Gibbs Houston Pauw, which specializes in immigration law, and was a law clerk for the Honorable Marsha J. Pechman, U.S. District Court, Western District of Washington. He graduated from Harvard Law School and has a certificate in refugee studies from the University of Oxford, where he was a Fulbright Scholar.
