Advanced Patent Law

This course will analyze public policy and practice considerations relating to patenting and licensing research results in high technology as well substantive and procedural aspects of patent enforcement. The course will examine most up-to-date issues in legal protection of technology from the comparative law perspective. Students from different jurisdictions will work as a group and present a research paper on a topic related to patent law and policy and propose the best practice for patent reforms. Students with no science background can select topics related to patent licensing and litigation. Prerequisite: P508 Patent Law or P567 Intellectual Property Survey.
