Litigation Perspectives: Bench to Trench

This course focuses on the following areas of trial practice, highlighting the difference between state and federal practice: client communications; cost effective case management; pleadings, discovery and motion practice; Rule 11 sanctions; the local rules of the Western District of Washington; the mysteries inside judicial chambers; managing the "big" case; settlement negotiation and alternative dispute resolution; expert witnesses; demonstrative evidence; trial preparation; and the trial itself. Offered on a credit/no credit basis. Evidence (B503 or B513) is not required but recommended.
