Economic Analysis Of Intellectual Property

This course will introduce students to the intersection between intellectual property law and economics from both a macro and micro-economic perspective. Topics range from the economic justification of intellectual property law to intellectual property portfolio management tools that can evaluate intellectual property protection as an investment. Grading will be based on a mixture of final examination, student participation and/or quizzes. Prerequisites: P502 Trademark/Trade Secret Law, P507 Copyright Law, and P508 Patent Law, or P567 Intellectual Property Survey.
