LAW T 548 Tax Writing

Credits: 2

Tax Writing is designed to improve a student's writing skills as they relate to the practice of tax law. Students will draft many different types of tax documents, including: (1) formal correspondence with the Internal Revenue Service; (2) briefs for the United States Tax Court; (3) requests for private letter rulings; and (4) tax opinion letters rendered to clients. Consideration will also be given to professional responsibility aspects of tax practice. Grades in the course will be solely on several writing assignments given over the course of the quarter.
