LAW E 553 Technology Law And Public Policy Seminar

The course is a survey of the many and varied domains of public policies that have been affected by the information revolution. We will examine issues from Internet taxation, to personal data privacy, information warfare. In this rapidly shifting policy environment, we will discuss the implications of the new public policies and whether it is feasible for states to enact different information policies. Concepts from various disciplines (public goods, market efficiency, right to privacy, democracy, to name just a few) will be applied to the new policy choices caused by the information revolution.
