LAW A 552 Antitrust Law And Policy
The course focuses on the development of antitrust in the United States, with frequent references to the comparative experiences of other countries and the daunting challenges posed by the globalization of the world’s economy. Particular attention is given to monopolies, restraints of trade, mergers, and price discrimination. Beyond focusing on the historic and current legal and economic challenges of antitrust, the course is structured to illustrate the potential impact of antitrust in any business practice and to facilitate the development of the students’ analytical, problem solving, writing, and fact gathering skills. Weekly case studies and team assignments enable a student to earn four credits even though the class meets three hours a week.
