At the University of Washington School of Law, we provide integrated student services and career services in one centralized office. Student & Career Services (SCS) focuses on five key areas:

The Gates Public Service Law Program is a core part of Student and Career Services, and seeks to create a culture at UW Law where students, faculty, and staff are inspired and empowered to make public service and equal justice an integral feature of their professional lives. Students interested in public service individualized coaching to students seeking careers in non-profit or public interest organizations, private public interest firms, government agencies, and as judicial clerks.
SCS professionals work holistically with students to provide customized advice, strategy, and support to students during law school, as they enter the work force, and in subsequent career transitions. We encourage you to ask questions and to participate in activities that will expand your skills and competencies. We provide context of the legal employment market so that you can frame your plan for success and feedback that promotes progress toward your goals. SCS offers individualized academic advising and career coaching as well as a variety of workshops, and programs, including career assessment, building professional relationships, resume and cover letter review, mock interviews, job search strategies.
