Information for Employers

Welcome to the University of Washington School of Law. We look forward to assisting you with your recruiting efforts and providing you with effective access to our exceptional students and alumni. Below are three ways you can connect with students and alumni. Contact our office via email at or by phone at (206) 543-9097 for more help on how to work with our students and alumni.

  • Post a job announcement in Symplicity, the online database for students and alumni seeking employment. You may also do resume collection through Symplicity.
  • Provide an externship opportunity for a school-year extern. All students are required to complete 60 hours of public service work to graduate. This requirement may be fulfilled by working for school credit with a public service employer.
  • Participate in the Fall Recruiting Program by registering for On-Campus Interviews or Resume Collection.

"This summer, the AGO Social and Health Services Division in Olympia was lucky enough to employ two Rule 9 Law Clerks who are both UW Law students. They demonstrated an incredible work ethic, tackled difficult projects, and were a great fit for the office. They eagerly took advantage of the many opportunities to participate in hearings and trials, and impressed both their colleagues and judges with their courtroom skills."

- Rachel Burnside, Assistant Attorney General
Social and Health Services Division, Olympia

"I have supervised a number of externs through the University of Washington School of Law externship program over the past 10 years. The students I have had the privilege to supervise are consistently well-versed in the fundamentals of the law, are bright and hard-working, and committed to public service. The contributions UW externs have made to the Attorney General’s Office in Everett over the years are immeasurable, both in terms of their work product as well as their enthusiasm for the law and service to others. They bring a fresh perspective to our practice, one that invigorates and reminds us why we chose this profession to begin with.

-Scott Majors, Senior Counsel
Regional Services Division, Everett
