Our Community

Because of the high number of applications received each year, the UW School of Law is able to select an outstanding student body. Our students are academically sound and culturally diverse.  To see the admissions statistics for the latest entering class, click here.

J.D.s are more than just students, they are part of the community. In addition to the 60 hours of public service each J.D. must perform prior to graduation, our students provide advocacy through involvement with organizations such as the Public Interest Law Association and the Innocence Project Northwest. Throughout the academic school year, our students dedicate thousands of hours to public legal service.

It is our philosophy that students learn not only from their professors and legal professionals, but also from each other. Our students arrive with experience ranging from years in the private sector, to service in the Peace Corps, AmeriCorps, military, government and more. This diversity creates a varied and stimulating intellectual atmosphere.
