Dean Kellye Testy visits Asia
Dean Kellye Testy just returned from a very successful trip to Asia, accompanied by Professors Jon Eddy, Jonathan Kang and Clark Lombardi. Their travels took them to Tokyo, Seoul and Taipei where they connected with many of our alumni, donors and friends, including those in legal academia.
UW Law hosted two alumni dinners, one in Tokyo and one in Seoul, where alumni and friends gathered for some camaraderie and good food. They delivered our message of Leaders for the Global Common Good and it was met with great enthusiasm.
“UW Law is on the right track with all of our good friends in the Far East and they stand strong in their support of our mission and vision,” reports Dean Testy. “I also had the opportunity to help showcase our focus on leadership in the legal profession from a global perspective where I presented on a panel at the East Asian Law & Society Conference in Seoul on September 30 and October 1.”
At the conference, Professors Kang and Lombardi presented papers and Dean Testy spoke in a plenary session entitled “The Confluence of Law and Markets in East Asia.”
During the week-long trip they also met with institutional partners and academic and research institutions, including the Supreme Court of Korea and major law schools in Korea and Taiwan.
“I would like to thank Professors Eddy and Kang for all their wonderful guidance and organization of this trip,” commented Dean Testy. “We are clearly on the right path and will continue our presence in Asia with diligent focus and strategic direction.”
