UW Law School Hosts Discussion on Race and the Death Penalty
The UW School of Law will host a discussion on race and the death penalty, "The Racial Geography of Death," featuring Robert Smith of Harvard's Charles Hamilton Houston Institute for Race and Justice and G. Ben Cohen of the Capital Appeals Project of Louisiana on May 24 at 6 p.m. in William H. Gates Hall Room 138.
The discussion will be moderated by Stephen Bright, President of the Southern Center for Human Rights and a professor at Yale Law School. Other panelists slated to speak include Jeffery Robinson, Defense Attorney; law professor Jackie McMurtrie, Innocence Project Northwest Clinic Director; and Jim Schacht, Deputy Prosecutor, Pierce County Prosecutor's Office.
