Student Support Features

Because law students spend a great deal of time at the law school, William H. Gates Hall is equipped with many features that support student life. These include:

  • Lockers
  • Student lounges
  • Small group study rooms
  • Bike lockers and racks
  • Student kitchenette (sink, microwave, refrigerator), snack bar & vending machines
  • Shower facilities
  • Computer tech support
  • Remote Learning Center (see below)

Claire Sherman-Thomas Remote Learning Center

The Remote Learning Center is a unique feature of the building that allows students with young children to participate in class while taking care of their children. The Center has a number of features, including a sink, small refrigerator, microwave, and soft furniture. There are two private rooms designed for lactation purposes. Four workstations with audio/visual feeds permit parents with children to listen to and/or watch sessions in the majority of the Gates Hall classrooms.
