Melissa S. Landers 1L Write-On Competition
Membership in the Washington Law Review is competitive. First-year students interested
in joining must participate in the 1L write-on competition. Typically, the Law Review
extends invitations of membership to 24 first-year students. Of those, six students
receive invitations based on their first-year grades; six receive invitations based
on the quality of their write-on sample; and twelve are invited based on a combination
of both factors.
2L Write-On Competition
The Law Review sponsors a competition for second-year students in Spring Quarter.
Second-year students are invited to submit pieces of original scholarship that substantially
contribute to legal discourse. The Law Review typically extends invitations to two
second-year students, based exclusively on the quality of the manuscript they submit.
Please review the 2L Write-On Competition Rules if
you are interested in participating.
