Campaign Raises Record Amount
With two years to go in the campaign and 80% of the goal reached, co-chairs Stan Barer ’63 and Norm Maleng ’66 are making a final push at a time when costs for a legal education continue to rise.
Capital campaign contributions support the law school’s commitment to excellence by providing funds to recruit and support outstanding students, promote faculty scholarship and research, and encourage public service activities.
“Creating Futures” law school campaign co-chairs Stan Barer and Norm Maleng seek your support in the effort: “We must join together—alumni, friends, faculty, students, and administration—to sustain excellence today and guarantee excellence in the years to come.”
Rising law school tuition has outpaced the financial assistance available to our students. In fact, while peer institutions are offering scholarships to more than half of their student body, only one-third of UW School of Law students receive scholarship assistance.
The campaign goal is to increase alumni participation in the annual fund and Law Firm Annual Challenge, co-chaired by Maleng, Bruce Robertson ’77, and Judy Bendich ’75. The campaign encourages unrestricted support as well as endowed gifts for student scholarships and faculty professorships and chairs.
