Global Health & Justice: Paradigms for Multidisciplinary Collaboration

February 25 -26, 2005
12 CLE General Credits Approved

Presented by
The Global Health & Justice Project at the University of Washington School of Law
and
The Pacific Northwest Center for Health, Law & Policy
(a consortium of UW, Seattle University, Lewis and Clark, University of British Columbia and Gonzaga Law Schools)

PROGRAM INFORMATION

This multidisciplinary program focuses on cutting-edge issues presenting ongoing challenges to global health and justice. How does international law impact our health? What are the populations that are most at risk of human rights abuses and how does this affect individual and population health? Does patent law really impact access to medical innovations, including new pharmaceuticals? How do trade and trade law affect our health? These are some of the questions that will be explored in this two-day conference during which leading medical, public health and legal academics and professionals will consider the many facets of these complex questions. The goal of the conference is to promote dialogue that will lead to identifying future areas of research and foster continued multidisciplinary collaboration. The program will be held at William H. Gates Hall, the new home of the University of Washington School of Law, on the university’s main Seattle campus.
