UW School of Law Faculty
An expansive and deep legal education begins with exceptional faculty.
With a student-to-faculty ratio of 10:1, students have remarkable access
to some of the brightest minds in the legal field.
Our faculty are recognized
experts in such fields as constitutional law, criminal law, trial advocacy, intellectual property, taxation, technology law, international and human rights law, Asian and comparative law, Native American law, health law, and
environmental law. Adjunct faculty within other UW academic units and
part-time instructors from the area’s vibrant legal community further enrich
the education we offer.
Because our faculty has distinct experience and expertise, the
law school can offer more than 100 courses and seminars in specialized areas of
law. Our professors teach not only law, but the intellectual tools and skills
necessary for a successful legal career. Emphasis is placed upon
gaining experience in analyzing cases, statutes, regulations, and other
legal materials and in synthesizing general notions of the structure and
operation of the legal system.
