Externship Program Requirements
Students may earn academic credit for externships pursuant to
Standard 304 of the ABA Standards for Approval of Law Schools.
Each student must have both a Field Supervisor at the externship site and a
Faculty Supervisor at UW Law.
The Field Supervisor is a judge or attorney at the Sponsor Organization who
agrees to abide by the policies and procedures of the Externship Program. This
includes providing the student with appropriate training and meeting regularly
with the student to provide ongoing supervision and feedback.
The Faculty Supervisor is designated by the Externship Program and assigned to
students to evaluate their academic performance.
Please see Information for Field Supervisors and Information for Faculty Supervisors pages for additional information.
