The University of Washington School of Law invites you to join in celebrating the installation of Peter Nicolas as a Jeffrey and Susan Brotman Professor of Law.

Peter Nicolas, an expert on federal and state rules of evidence, joined the law faculty in 2000. He has authored several books and articles, and his scholarship has been cited by the U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Courts of Appeal for the Second, Sixth, and Eighth Circuits, and lower federal and state courts in Indiana, New York,
Illinois, and Tennessee. His teaching and research interests include federal courts, international civil litigation, evidence, conflict of laws, constitutional law, and sexual orientation law.
The installation ceremony will include Professor Nicolas's lecture "Taking State Law Seriously: A Re-Assessment of Our Obsession with All Things Federal" in the Magnuson/Jackson Courtroom, Room 138, William H. Gates Hall, School of Law, and a reception in Room 115.
