Professor Zahr Said is an Assistant Professor. She came to the UW after completing a stint as a visiting professor at the University of Virginia School of Law. Zahr earned her B.A. from UC Berkeley (magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa), her J.D. from Columbia (where she served as Articles Editor for the Columbia Journal of Law and the Arts, and was a Kent Scholar) and a Ph.D. in comparative literature from Harvard University. Said's research applies humanistic methods, theories, and texts to problems in legal doctrine and policy.
She teaches Torts, Copyright, Advertising, IP Survey, and the Proseminar for Ph.D. students, which is an introduction to American jurisprudence.
