REPRESENTING WASHINGTON VETERANS:
BASIC LEGAL AND CULTURAL CONCEPTS
Presented by: Leo Flor 3L, UW Law Student
As, a part of his work at the Northwest Justice Project Leo published a manual for lawyers to assist them in representing Veteran’s in Washington State. Leo has presented to the Washington Drug Court Conference, WA Defender Association and Alliance for Equal Justice Attorneys on the topic of legal and cultural concepts. Currently he is a Rule 9 in the Seattle Veterans Court.
Some interesting facts: Approximately 10% of Washington residents are veterans, 25% of homeless people are veterans, and 25% of veterans with PTSD have been arrested.
