Landesa works to secure land rights for the world’s poorest people. Landesa partners with developing country governments to design and implement laws, policies, and programs concerning land that provide opportunity, further economic growth, and promote social justice. This event will feature Ross Doll and Leslie Hannay. Mr. Doll is a Research Associate who focuses on land tenure issues in China. His interests include urbanization, farm cooperatives, the influence of national administrative and economic policies on cadre behavior, as well as the role of property policies in the development of Taiwan. Mr. Doll served in the Peace Corp in Romania, and has lived in China for over 4 years. Ms. Hannay is a Fellow at the Landesa Center for Women’s Land Rights. She focuses on women’s property rights issues in sub-Saharan Africa. Along with women’s groups, policy makers, and foreign governments, Ms. Hannay works to change laws to ensure that women own the land on which they farm and live. For those interested in getting more involved in Landesa, feel free to ask about summer internships and part-time internships, as well as Landesa’s two-year fellowship program.
