Prospective Student Information

What better way to experience life as a law student at the University of Washington School of Law than to visit us at William H. Gates Hall? We invite you to take a tour of the building, visit and observe a law school class, meet with the Office of Admissions & Financial Aid staff, and get a real taste of law student life by spending time with our Student Ambassadors. We recommend planning your visit around lunchtime during the academic year when classes are in session. Please be sure to check the Academic Calendar for details

Building Tours

Guided Tours: We only offer guided tours during the Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters; currently no guided tours are available. We welcome you to take a self-guided tour!

Self-Guided Tours: Visitors who wish to tour the building on their own may pick up a Self-Guided Tour booklet at the Office of Admissions & Financial Aid, Room 231, during regular business hours.

Attend a Law School Class

Class Visitor Conduct:  We only offer class visits during the Fall, Winter, and Spring Quarters; currently no classes are available for visit. We welcome you to visit a class in the fall!

Please note that the law school will be closed on the following dates in observance with national holidays/campus observances. No tours or class visits will be available these days:

  • November 11, 2015 - Veterans Day
  • November 27, 2015 - Thanksgiving Holiday
  • January 18, 2016 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday
  • February 15, 2016 - Presidents' Day
  • May 30, 2016 - Memorial Day

Walk-in Visits

While we encourage you to schedule your visit in advance, we also welcome walk-in visitors. Please stop by the Office of Admissions & Financial Aid, Room 231, to ask any questions about the law school and our admissions process or to pick up a self-guided tour booklet.  We will do our best to accommodate walk-in requests, but please note that we cannot guarantee that an admissions officer will be available.

Visiting During the Summer or Interim Periods

Although the above guided tour and designated law school class schedules are not available during the summer and interim periods, we still welcome your visit to the School of Law. The Office of Admissions & Financial Aid is open regular business hours during the summer and interim periods.
