Chi-Dooh “Skip” Li ' 70 publishes "Buy This Land" Chi-Dooh “Skip” Li is founder and partner at the Seattle law firm Ellis, Li & McKinstry, PLLC, and founder of Agros International, an organization that has received recognition from the United Nations, the World Bank, and the Inter-American Development Bank for combating the root causes of poverty. Judge Veronica Galvan '94 to Run to Retain Presiding Judge of Des Moines Court - Water and Land Blog
Judge Veronica A. Galvan has announced she will run to retain her position as Presiding Judge of Des Moines Municipal Court, a position she has held for six years. Judge Galvan was originally appointed in 2007 through a rigorous selection process out of a field of 41 applicants.

The Logger Lawyer: Newton Knight '16 The law library of the University of Washington may be a strange haunt in which to find the champion cross-cut sawyer of the world, but that is the winter lair of Chas. A. Newton of Oakville, junior law, crew man, football player, and undisputed champion of the saw men of the universe. And between law classes, this lawyer forester is preparing to better his own unbeaten record with the crosscut saw by designing and manufacturing what he expects will be the fastest sawing machine in existence. Lillian Hewko '11 receives Reproductive Justice Fellowship at the National Women’s Health Network Hewko began her reproductive justice work as Peace Corps Urban Youth Development Volunteer in Concepción, Paraguay implementing community and youth led comprehensive sex-education workshops. During law school, Hewko focused on human rights issues that affect women and girls, including child rape, sex trafficking, abortion access in Latin America, health care access in WA, wage claims and lawful status for immigrant survivors of domestic violence in the United States. Christa Zamora '97 became the Chief Administrative Judge of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission's Phoenix District Office's Hearings Unit Her appointment in Jan. 2013 marks the first time an Asian American woman has held this position in the history of the EEOC. (3/12/13)
Jeff Rosen '85 was appointed by President Obama as the Chairperson of the National Council on Disability Jeff Rosen of Maryland is a third generation deaf person active in the disability movement. Mr. Rosen is the General Counsel to ZVRS, a company that provides video interpreting services and products. Prior to joining ZVRS, Mr. Rosen served as the General Counsel and Vice President of Government Relations of Snap!VRS from 2007 until 2011. Previously, he served as the General Counsel and Director of Policy for the National Council on Disability from 2000 to 2007. (3/12/13)
