Upper Division Writing
The University of Washington School of Law continues its commitment to writing beyond the first year. Second and third-year students have the opportunity to take courses in written advocacy, analytic writing, and advanced research. In these courses, students receive intensive feedback on all aspects of their analysis, research, and writing. Faculty continue to develop new advanced writing courses.
Small seminars allow students to explore and write about a variety of topics in depth. In addition, students have been able to write briefs and argue in the state and federal appellate courts under faculty supervision.
Our LLM programs have writing courses geared specifically for their students’ needs, whether in tax, intellectual property, or Asian Law.
