Melissa S. Landers Write-On Competition for 1Ls
First year students are invited to participate in the all-journal Melissa S. Landers
write-on competition. The competition takes place during the first two weeks following
Spring 1L exams. Students wishing to write-on to the Washington Journal of Environmental
Law & Policy must submit an additional personal statement and commit to taking an
introductory environmental law course during their 2L or 3L year. Please contact

Washington Journal of Environmental Law & Policy Note-On Competition for 2Ls
The Washington Journal of Environmental Law & Policy (WJELP) invites current second-year law students to apply for membership with WJELP. All second-year law students who are not members of another UWLS journal or law review are eligible to participate. Applicants may submit papers they have written for seminar classes or to fulfill their supervised analytical writing requirement, or other relevant papers, along with a short statement of intent describing their reasons for applying to WJELP.
