why study taxation at the University of Washington School of Law?

The UW Graduate Program in Taxation offers many of the features associated with other nationally recognized programs:

But there are at least three compelling reasons to choose UW:

  1. WIDER RANGE OF COURSES
While students in most other graduate tax programs take 8-12 classes in their courses of study, students at the UW Tax Program typically take 13-16 classes thanks to the quarter system (three ten-week quarters comprise an academic year).

  2. YOUR PARTNER IN PLACEMENT
We recognize that our reputation as a leading graduate tax program hinges on our students finding success in the job market. While we cannot guarantee students jobs at graduation, we do guarantee to work with students in finding leads and converting them into job offers. Our Career Counselor, herself a tax lawyer with an LL.M. in Taxation, knows the major players in the profession and knows how to help you in all aspects of the job search. Few, if any, programs boast a practicing tax lawyer as a career counselor, and no other program matches our commitment to job placement.

  3. THE BOTTOM LINE
Tuition at the UW Tax Program for 2005-2006 is $600 per credit ($21,600 total), an amount far below average and only about half the cost of other leading programs.

The question is not "Why study Taxation at the University of Washington School of Law," but WHY STUDY TAXATION ANYWHERE ELSE?
