Student Representation on Faculty Committees
On all standing committees except the Initial Appointments Committee, Merit Committee, Executive Council, Admissions Committee, or individual Faculty Promotion & Tenure Committees, there shall be:
- Three voting student members designated as "regular members;" and
- One non-voting student member, designated as the "alternate member," who shall vote in the absence of a "regular member;" and
- One non-voting student member, designated as the "SBA Liaison," who shall be responsible for reporting on committee activity to the SBA Executive Board.
The Admissions Committee has four voting student members, designated as “regular members,” and no non-voting student members.
The Initial Appointments Committee has five non-voting student members, one of whom shall be designated as the “SBA Liaison,” who shall be responsible for reporting on committee activity to the SBA Executive Board.
There is one non-voting student representative on each individual Faculty Promotion & Tenure Committee who provides input but is not included during the deliberations.
There are no student representatives on the Merit Committee or the Executive Council.
All student members shall be appointed by majority vote of the SBA Executive Board.
