This fund is in memory of Professor Paul Miller and provides financial assistance to law students from underrepresented backgrounds seeking a Juris Doctorate degree at the University of Washington School of Law.
LRAP Endowment
The purpose of the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP) Endowment is to provide assistance to students and/or former students of the University of Washington School of Law who pursue public service careers by providing loan repayment to those with demonstrated educational debt and financial need.
The American Bar Association (ABA) has long recognized that educational debt is a barrier for law graduates to pursue public service careers. The barrier has an impact on both the legal profession and society. Consequently, with the encouragement of the ABA, many law schools in the nation have enacted Loan Repayment Assistance Programs (LRAPs) to lessen the burden of educational debt for those who pursue public service careers.
