11th Annual PILA Auction Sold-Out Success
Proceeds total $67,000
The Public Interest Law Association (PILA) at the UW School of Law raised $67,000 at its eleventh annual fundraising auction on Friday February 10, 2006 at the W Hotel. The majority of the proceeds will provide grants to UW law students who devote their summer to pro bono legal work on behalf of underrepresented people and causes. Another portion of the proceeds will be contributed to the newly formed Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP).
Also, Casey Trupin ('99) and Sara Ainsworth ('96) were inducted into the PILA Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame celebrates select members of the public interest
legal community who are renowned for their commitment to public service and for their seemingly tireless advocacy.
