Pacific Rim Law & Policy Journal

The Pacific Rim Law & Policy Journal was founded in 1990 to promote the discussion of legal and policy issues affecting East Asian and trans-Pacific affairs. The Journal provides a forum for the discussion of current issues significant to legal practice and scholarship in this dynamic region.

The Journal is published three times a year and contains several types of pieces: articles written by legal scholars, social scientists, policy makers and other professionals; translations by both students and professionals of laws and scholarly articles from around the Pacific Rim; and comments, which are student-written pieces.

Washington State is a major Pacific Rim center and is uniquely tied to events throughout the region. The Journal is a natural participant in the active community of international scholarship fostered by the University of Washington's internationally recognized Asian and Comparative Law and Law of Sustainable International Development programs.

The Journal is one of only four student-edited law journals in the United States devoted to Pacific Rim issues and one of the only such journals to feature translations of Asian laws and legal scholarship.
