UW School of Law Welcomes Kellye Testy

Join the UW School of Law in welcoming Kellye Testy as the incoming dean of the law school at a reception, Thursday, September 10, 2009, at William H. Gates Hall (time TBD). Testy will become the law school's first permanent female dean, effective September 1, 2009.

"I am honored by this appointment and thank President Emmert, Provost Wise, and the faculty, staff, students, alumni and friends of the UW law school for their trust and confidence," said Testy.

Currently the dean of Seattle University's law school, Testy has been professor and dean at SU since 2005. She received her bachelor’s degree in journalism from Indiana University in 1982 and her J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law in 1991, graduating summa cum laude. She served as law clerk for the Honorable Jesse E. Eschbach on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit in 1991 and 1992.
