On Sunday June 15, 2008, the UW School of Law awarded degrees to 173 JD, 91 LLM and two PhD graduates. The commencement address was presented by Sherman Alexie, a prolific novelist, poet and screenplay writer who has been hailed as one of the best writers of his generation. Lonnie Rosenwald '94 presented the Alumni Salutation following the Faculty Salutation by Professor Robert Anderson and Student Salutation by Richard Wentzell ’08.
The 2008 Class Gift of more than $16,000, was presented by Karen Clevering ’08 and Tricia Birdsell ’08 to Interim Dean Greg Hicks. Stephanie Kotecki ’08 and Matt Rudow ’08, representing the Public Interest Law Association, presented a check for $10,00 from the student organization. Both gifts are dedicated to the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (see "LRAP Endowment Challenge" in this issue of eBriefs).
