The UW School of Law conferred 184 J.D. and 94 other graduate degrees on the Class of 2007 in a ceremony June 10 dedicated to the memory of alumnus and King County Prosecutor Norm Maleng '66. The commencement address was presented by Lieutenant Commander Charles Swift, a defense counsel in the Department of Defense Office of Military Commissions. Arley Harrel ’73 presented the Alumni Salutation following the Faculty Salutation by Professor Jackie McMurtrie and Student Salutation by Gregory Wong ’07. The 2007 Class Gift of more than $28,000, one of the largest class gifts in the history of the law school, was presented by Lena Haslund ’07 and John Peterson ’07 to Dean Joe Knight. Denice Gagner ’07 and Sonja Jacobsen ’07, representing the Public Interest Law Association, presented a matching gift from the student organization. Both gifts will be used for the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP).
