Blumenfeld '69 Named UW Alumni Association Executive Director

Charles R. “Chuck” Blumenfeld '69Charles R. “Chuck” Blumenfeld, a partner at Perkins Coie LLP law firm, who was president of the UW Alumni Association for 2005-06, was named executive director of the UW Alumni Association and UW associate vice president for alumni relations.

“We conducted a nationwide search for the right leader to take our association to the next level,” said Gregg Blodgett, president of the board of the UWAA. “The candidate pool was very impressive. At the end of the day, Chuck was the candidate that stood out from the field.”

Blumenfeld, who led the national environmental and natural resources practice for Seattle-based Perkins Coie, took the helm after spending seven years on the UWAA Board of Trustees. He received a B.A. in political science from the UW ('66) and a J.D. from the UW law school.

In his new position, Blumenfeld is responsible for the leadership, planning and management of a comprehensive alumni relations program that serves and promotes the interests of the UW and its former students.
