U.S. News Media Group's 2013 Edition of Best Graduate Schools
SEATTLE - The University of Washington School of Law jumped from its ranking of 30 to 20 among the top law schools throughout the U.S. according to the 2013 edition of Best Graduate Schools by U.S. News Media Group (U.S. News & World Report). This means a move of 14 spaces in only two years. The law school also notes its ranking as 7th in public law schools.
“I’m very proud that our overall score improved, especially our assessment by lawyers and judges -- an important indicator that our reputation is strong and building. While we know that rankings are only one measure of the excellence of UW Law, the recognition of our momentum and accomplishment is, of course, welcome news,” Dean Kellye Y. Testy told the faculty and staff when the rankings were released.
“This sizable increase in rankings demonstrates the collective work of our faculty, administration and our students. We continue to dedicate ourselves to serving our increasingly complex and connected world by preparing our graduates to be its most capable and honorable interdisciplinary problem-solvers,” added Testy.
The 2013 Best Graduate Schools includes essential, detailed statistical information on more than 1,200 programs nationwide, featuring rankings in five of the largest professional graduate school disciplines (business, law, education, engineering, and medicine). For the top law school report, U.S.News surveyed programs at 195 fully-accredited law schools.
Highlights of the rankings will be published in the Best Graduate Schools 2013 edition book, available April 2012.
