Law School Alumna Survives Haiti Earthquake
Stephanie Kotecki '08
Stephanie Kotecki, a 2008 graduate from the UW School of Law working in Port-au-Prince as a foreign service officer to the U.S. embassy, survived Haiti's 7.0 magnitude earthquake yesterday. Kotecki wrote that she was in her apartment when the earthquake hit and escaped without injury.
"I made it through the night of recurring aftershocks, and now there is a lot of work to do," she wrote.
"I really appreciate the concern everyone has shown. It is terrible here, but I am one of the lucky ones."
