More than 87% of UW School of Law graduates passed the Summer 2009 Washington State Bar Exam, according to the Washington State Bar Association (WSBA).
There were 104 first-time candidates from the UW, of which 91 passed both sections, for a pass rate of 87.5% (91/104), compared with 85.1% in 2008.
The overall pass rate for UW candidates as reported by the WSBA was 84.7% (94/111).
UW School of Law graduates did well on the ethics portion of the bar exam, with more than 95% of all UW candidates passing the professional responsibility section.
According to the WSBA, the overall pass rate for law school graduates from Seattle University was 70.7% and Gonzaga University was 68.3%.
