Law School Hosts Climate Change Conference
SEATTLE - The University of Washington School of Law will host a conference on the law, economics, and impact of climate change March 2, 2007 in William H. Gates Hall. Speakers include U.S. Representative Jay Inslee, Director of the Washington State Department of Ecology Jay Manning, Director of the Oregon State Department of Ecology Mike Grainey, and Environmental Advisor to Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger Terry Tamminen, and leaders of several corporations, including Alcoa and Weyerhaeuser.
The UW School of Law partnered with the Climate Trust to offset 100% of the carbon dioxide emissions associated with this conference, including estimate emissions generated by travel and energy usage. A donation was made to the trust to offset approximately 44 metric tons of carbon dioxide.
The conference is sponsored by the Association of Washington Businesses, the Washington Environmental Council, the Washington State Bar Association, and Washington State Department of Ecology.
