The UW School of Law conferred 176 J.D. and 100 other graduate degrees on the Class of 2006 on Sunday June 12. The commencement address was presented by law school alumnus and UW Regent William H. Gates '50 to the family, friends and guests of the graduates in the audience of 1200. Michael Gotham '93 presented the Alumni Salutation following the Faculty Salutation by Professor Paul Steven Miller, and Student Salutation by Andrew Noble.

The 2006 Class Gift of more than $7,600, which is made up entirely of cash and pledged contributions by the graduating class, was presented by Sara Ayoubi and Lauren Fisher to Dean Knight. Jon Bridge, Linda Ebberson and Richard Hopp, representing the Class of 1976, presented a gift matching the student's contribution to Dean Knight. In addition, it was announced that PILA (Public Interest Law Association), will match all student contributions exceeding $100. The total gift, which exceeds $20,000, will be used for the Loan Repayment Assistance Program (LRAP).
