Preparations for the 10th annual auction of the UW School of Law’s Public Interest Law Association are in high gear. On Saturday, Feb. 19, the HUB Ballroom will once again be transformed into an auction hall. The silent auction begins at 6 p.m. and dinner and the live auction commence at 8 p.m. Tickets are $75 per person and $560 for a table seating eight persons. If you would like to donate items and/or your talents, please contact Katie Meyer at
. PILA is looking for music lessons, fishing lessons, Web design instructions, sailing lessons, hosts for theme parties/dinners/breakfasts, babysitters, vacation home owners, frequent flier mile holders, box seat owners, or anything else you can dream up.
Auction proceeds will fund the grants for UW law students allowing them to pursue public interest work. In addition, a portion of the profits will be used to establish a loan repayment assistance program. In 2004, PILA’s auction raised nearly $94,000 including a $25,000 Challenge Grant Match, which funded eight full and four partial grants for students performing public interest work.
The registration deadline is Friday, Feb 11, 2005. To RSVP, e-mail
