Charles Harwood
Federal Trade Commission

Charles A. Harwood has been the Director of the Federal Trade Commission's Northwest Region since June 1989.  Before joining the staff of the FTC, Mr. Harwood served from October 1983 until May 1989 as a counsel to the U.S. Senate’s Committee on Commerce, Science, and Transportation.  Mr. Harwood is a member of the Oregon State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar. 

Michael Hintze
Microsoft

Michael D. Hintze is a Senior Attorney in Microsoft Corporation’s Law and Corporate Affairs group.  Mr. Hintze’s work focuses on data privacy, electronic commerce, and the regulation of encryption.  Prior to joining Microsoft in early 1998, Mr. Hintze was an associate with the Washington, D.C.-based law firm of Steptoe & Johnson LLP, where his practice focused on export controls and commercial matters for high technology companies.  He joined the firm following a judicial clerkship with Justice Robert F. Utter of the Washington State Supreme Court. Mr. Hintze has published numerous articles on subjects ranging from the abolition of the death penalty in South Africa to U.S. encryption regulations and Internet privacy issues.

Sanjay Kumar is the founder and CEO of vCustomer, which provides outsourcing solutions to global corporations.  Sanjay has worked at Teledesic, where he was responsible for the design and successful approvals for global ground connectivity at the ITU, the United States FCC and other national regulatory bodies. Sanjay currently serves as a director on the board of the WSA.

Jeffrey Shelby is an attorney at Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe LLP in Seattle, Washington.  His practice includes advising entrepreneurs and companies, from small to Fortune 500, in their commercial transactions involving intellectual property, with an emphasis on technology transfer, software licensing and distribution agreements.  Jeff also regularly advises companies on their public and private financing activities, SEC reporting compliance, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters.

Sandeep Krishnamurthy is Associate Professor of E-Commerce and Marketing at the University of Washington, Bothell. H recently published a 450 page MBA textbook titled "E-Commerce Management: Text and Cases.”  His comments have been featured in press articles in outlets such as Marketing Computers, Direct Magazine, Wired.com, Medialifemagazine.com, Oracle's Profit Magazine and The Washington Post. Sandeep also works in the areas of generic advertising and non-profit marketing.
