The Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) 2005 was signed by President Bush on January 5, 2005. Since 1996, law students and pro bono attorneys working with IFAP have assisted numerous adults and children who are fleeing domestic violence to file petitions for U.S. residency, bringing them one step closer to freedom from abuse.
