Academic Services Office

At the point that you begin the Foundations for Legal Study program, your well being for the next three years passes from the Admissions staff to the Academic Services staff.   Although you will receive assistance from many of the offices within the school, we can be the starting point of whom to ask when you have questions. We look forward to being a resource for you during your stay here.

Some of the responsibilities of our office include registration, lockers, examinations and announcements.

REGISTRATION:  The information that you will need for registering each quarter will come from our office.  You will register on your MyUW each quarter for the classes you will take.  During your first year, we provide you the schedule.  Next year, you will have to choose the classes yourself.

LOCKERS:  First year students who turn in a locker request form by Friday, September 18th will have priority in receiving use of a locker for the school year.  Lockers are assigned for the three regular quarters (Autumn, Winter, and Spring.)

EXAMINATIONS:  Academic Services will post the exam schedule by the first class day of each quarter.   First year students will have their three Autumn Quarter exams on a Monday-Wednesday-Friday (December 14,16,18) schedule.  Any questions regarding the administration of exams need to be directed to Academic Services; this includes special needs or reschedule requests.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:   Each class week, there is an issue of the law school newsletter, The Crier.   During the weekdays, there are commonly a set of students directed announcements sent out via email out mid-morning and mid-afternoon.  Announcements typically include information about weekly meeting and upcoming law school events.

EMERGENCY CONTACT:   You can leave our phone number as a way to reach you while you are in class.  Persons wanting to reach you can call our office.  We will check your schedule and take the message to you at a class break.  Our phone number is 206-543-0453.

ENROLLMENT VERIFICATION:   If you need to have a certification of your current enrolled status, our office can complete forms and/or prepare a letter.  We will need to have you complete a request form for the release of information.  Form is available at our office, room 361.

You will find our office conveniently located just off of the northwest elevator on the third floor.
