Events
The University of Washington School of Law hosts a number of seminars, symposiums
and conferences designed to update the legal community and others on recent
developments in the law, to assist in increased understanding of substantive areas
of the law, and to provide opportunities to enhance legal skills for constituents
of both the public and private sectors.
Event Planning
The Office of Event Management works to support all law school community members
in producing high-quality, cost-effective events. Below are guidelines for
submitting your event request.
- Faculty or staff members:

- Students or student organizations:

- General public: Groups from outside the School
of Law may reserve designated spaces in the building, on a case-by-case basis only. Submit a request.

Please join us to celebrate the installation of Professor Robert Gomulkiewicz as the UW Foundation Professor of Law on March 6, 2013. The installation ceremony will include Professor Gomulkiewicz's lecture, Fostering the Business of Innovation in the Magnuson/Jackson Courtroom, Room 138, William H. Gates Hall. QLaw Foundation and the Graduate Program in Taxation are sponsoring this panel discussion designed to inform LGBT community members about how the U.S. Supreme Court's pending decision on the constitutionality of DOMA is affecting federal tax planning for same-sex couples. Panelists Wendy Goffe, Esq., and Marci Flanery, CPA, will discuss the future of DOMA, the income-splitting and filing options for same-sex spouses this tax season, and the tax landscape for same-sex spouses in Washington if DOMA is repealed.
