The Center for Professional and Leadership Development is putting together a CLE workshop about starting your own practice. If you are interested in the nuts and bolts of starting a firm, learning how to secure contract business and get paid ethically, avoiding the common ethical pitfall new attorneys make when starting firms, and more, consider attending this event.
Pete Roberts of the WSBA's Law Office Management Assistance Program and Mark Johnson, Johnson Flora PLLC, will discuss what exactly is needed to start a firm - including formation and licensing, online search engines for research, malpractice insurance, forming and maintaining files and records, and using technology. This presentation will be accompanied by a panel of recent UW law grads who successfully started their own practice shortly after graduation.
For questions and to RSVP, please email Anna Van Pelt. Include your first and last name, full address, phone number, email address, bar number, and organization or firm name (if applicable). These events are free to UW Law graduates of 2012 and 2013, and to current students
