UW undergraduate Mock Trial Club’s Emerald City Open Tournament featuring 20 teams from around the country participating in undergraduate mock trial competition. The tournament is supported by local attorneys and judges and hosted by UW School of Law.
Join the American Judicature Society on December 3rd at 5pm in Room 115 for a reception for law students. Justice Charles K. Wiggins of the Washington State Supreme Court, Judges Sharon Armstrong & Michael Trickey of the King County Superior Court will be on hand to explain the mission of the AJS, as well as the benefits of membership both as a student, and later in a professional capacity.
The American Judicature Society is a large, longstanding, national organization dedicated to improving the quality of our judicial system – especially protecting its impartiality and its accessibility. The Washington chapter is made up of a number of prominent attorneys and judges, and has a strong interest in adding interested law students from the state’s three law schools to its membership.
This reception is a great opportunity for students to learn more about the work of this important professional organization, and to meet with area judges, attorneys and other members of the AJS. Light food and beverage will be served.
