Environmental Law at the UW
Collaboration
The Environmental Law Program, including the Environmental Law Clinic, works closely with the Law School’s Native American Law Center. Additionally, as part of the University’s Program on the Environment and the Earth Initiative students are able to learn from and work with top faculty from across the University of Washington. Students in the Environmental Law Clinic will also be given the opportunity to work with and learn from their peers at the University of Victoria in Canada.

"Going to Victoria provided me with truly needed perspective as winter quarter was nearing its end and my schedule seemed to burst at the seams. I had never been to Victoria before, and it was such a spectacular morning for a Clipper ride across the water that separates Seattle from Victoria. It was like getting a visual preview of what’s at stake before sitting down to critically discuss issues affecting the local trans-national environment.
The whole experience facilitated critical thinking on real problems affecting our shared environment, and it encouraged student input on how the two clinics could collaborate to help solve them. It renewed my commitment to work hard for the environment, and it increased my awareness of the realities we face in pushing for international environmental change. The conference was one of the most meaningful educational experiences I have ever had."
