Dean Speer

Special Projects and Programs employee Dean Speer is a Program Assistant who has been at the Law School since 1989, working first in Development and Alumni Relations. He first began deploying his talents on campus in 1984 and has been lurking around the quad and environs for nearly as long as he and anyone can remember. Dean's tasks include nearly everything that's related to running the Law School, except teaching! He provides clerical, secretarial and "general" administrative support. Mr. Speer holds a B.F.A. degree from Cornish College of the Arts, and was trained as a dancer here, there, and everywhere. When not on campus, he can be espied dancing around, flattening classical music lovers with his awesome baritone voice, eating gourmet goodies, rubbing the tummy of his cat, or even parasailing (he's got the pictures to prove it, too!). He also knows all 100 elephant jokes ask him the one about General Charles de Gaulle and can say "Rubber Baby Buggy Bumpers" very fast three times! Personally, he has good eye/hand coordination and reasonably strong teeth. Dean is currently the Volunteer Chair of the UW's Combined Fund Drive, which is no joking matter.
